After Stump Grinding: Turf, Garden Or Paving
Once the stump grinding is done, the spot is ready for whatever’s next:
- Turf. Remove most of the grindings, top up with quality soil, level and lay turf. Water well while it settles.
- Garden beds. Mix some grindings through the soil or use them as mulch around new plants.
- Paving and concrete. Ask us to grind deeper and remove the grindings, then compact the base properly before paving.
- A new tree. Plant slightly to one side of the old stump, into fresh soil, for the best start.
The ground may settle a little over the next few months as any leftover wood breaks down, so a top-up of soil is normal.
